Chelsea make shock move for Newcastle star

Chelsea have made a shock approach to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, according to Daily Mail.

The Sweden international is one of the best strikers in the Premier League. He scored 25 goals for the Magpies last term.

It is now reported that the Blues have made an enquiry over his services after learning that Newcastle need to balance their books.

The Magpies require around £50m before the end of June or else they could face a potential points deduction next season.

Amidst this, the Blues have made a surprise approach for Isak, but the Magpies are most likely to reject their advances.

Eddie Howe's side are determined to keep hold of their prized assets and may not consider less than £100m for Isak.

The Blues are unlikely to make such a huge outlay, considering they refused to pay around £60m for Michael Olise.

On top of this, they would also need to pay over £200,000-a-week. The speculation could be agent-driven for a new deal.
