Italian star wants to go to Arsenal this summer

Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori has his sights on joining Arsenal this summer amid interest from several European clubs.

The Italy international had a fantastic debut campaign with Bologna where he registered seven goal contributions from 37 outings.

He largely played from the central defensive positions for the Serie A outfit, but also operated from the left-back role occasionally.

The Gunners consider him as a potential option on the left side of the backline and a transfer could be completed in the coming days.

Speaking on Sky Sports, reporter Dharmesh Sheth said: "Sky Italy are reporting that Riccardo Calafiori has his heart set on a move to Arsenal.

"That’s where he wants to go. There’s been interest from other clubs, but he wants to go to Arsenal."

Apart from Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayer Leverkusen have looked at Calafiori, but the defender wants to join the Gunners.

He looks set to become the club's second summer signing following the permanent acquisition of goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford.
