Arsenal eyeing deals for two Spanish stars

Arsenal are interested in signing Spanish duo Mikel Merino and Nico Williams this summer, according to The Athletic.

The Gunners have had a quiet summer transfer window, but they are expected to be busy in the coming weeks as they aim to bolster the squad.

The Athletic claim that Merino is one of the top candidates on their radar. The midfielder could be signed for £20m from Real Sociedad.

The Gunners are also admirers of Williams, who has had an extraordinary leap in his career over the past 12 months for club and country.

Williams managed 27 goal contributions for Athletic Bilbao last term and went on to star for Spain at the Euros with terrific displays.

He scored the opening goal against England in the final and he looks set to have a great career ahead, considering his immense potential.

Arsenal could prise him away from Bilbao for his €58m release clause, but the La Liga club will want the sum in one single payment.
