Man City seal Savio transfer
Manchester City have signed Troyes' winger Savio on a long-term contract, with the Brazilian set to link up with his new teammates for pre-season training tomorrow. The player, who is also known as Savinho, had previously spent time on loan at PSV Eindhoven and Girona, but his parent club Troyes had shared ownership of the player with the City Football Group.
It is understood that Savio will join the Cityzens in a deal worth approximately £30.9 million, with a further £2 million add-ons for Troyes. Savinho has 7 caps for Brazil, scoring one goal, and had previously represented the under-15's, under-17's and under-20's sides.
Savio told reporters: "I'm a Brazilian who likes to play on the front foot, to be happy, to play joyful football.
"I like playing one against one, making assists, scoring goals too, and helping the team. My main characteristic, what I like the most, is being happy and getting fans up off their seats."
Expressing happiness over securing a deal, Man City director of football Txiki Begiristain quipped: "He has a big role to play for Manchester City this season and beyond."
