Arsenal prepared to go all out to sign Spanish star
Arsenal are prepared to go all out to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Gunners recently confirmed the departure of Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham and they are expected to replace him with Merino.
MD claim that the Gunners are determined to sign Merino for manager Mikel Arteta, but they are yet to make a formal proposal for him.
Sociedad have only received a serious offer from Atletico for the Spaniard, but the former Newcastle United man has rejected the move.
Hence, Arsenal are in pole position to land his signature. A deal could materialise as soon as they meet the reported €30m price tag.
Merino has already agreed personal terms over a long-term deal and he is said to be excited to play under the guidance of Arteta.
Arteta has already revealed his plans for the former Magpies star and Merino is keen to grab a second chance in English football.
