Ipswich Town and Southampton in bids for Jens Cajuste
Both Ipswich Town and Southampton have contacted the agent of Swedish central midfielder Jens Cajuste, after a proposed move to Brentford fell through at the last minute. Tne Napoli player had been expected to join The Bees, but due to terms over the length of the player's contract, a deal has since stalled and now Cajuste will look for a different club in the Premier League.
Newly promoted duo Ipswich Town and Southampton have been in contact with Cajuste's team, and the player, who had been expected to fly back to Napoli after his Brentford deal fell through, is said to be delighted that other teams are in the race to sign him. The 6 foot 2 midfielder appeared 26 times in Serie A last season since his arrival from Ligue 1 outfit Reims, and is available for a cut price 10 million euros, just short of the 12 million that the Naples side paid for Cajuste on the 10th August 2023.
It is understood that Southampton may be slightly ahead of Ipswich as favourites to secure the midfielder who has 23 caps for his country, and a deal could be announced as quickly as this weekend.
