Liverpool confident of signing 23yo international star

Liverpool are reportedly confident of signing Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili before the transfer deadline this month.

The Reds have had a quiet summer transfer window and they have not made a single signing under new head coach Arne Slot.

There could be some activity in the coming days and reports claim Mamardashvili could join the club for around €40m.

Alisson Becker is the undisputed goalkeeper for the Reds, but the Merseyside outfit are looking into a long-term replacement.

Mamardashvili is likely to be loaned out on his arrival and it is reported that Bournemouth are clear favourites to sign him.

The Georgia international has agreed terms with Liverpool as well as Bournemouth and a deal could be finalised soon.

Meanwhile, the Reds are not close to signing an outfield player as of now, but they could still pursue a defensive midfielder.

The club recently suffered a huge setback with Martin Zubimendi turning down the chance to join them from Real Sociedad.
