Everton to sign Orel Mangala
Everton will sign Belgium international defensive midfielder Orel Mangala in a deal worth approximately 15 million from Lyon. It is understood that the French side have decided to sell the player despite having only recently completed a permanent transfer deal for the 26-year-old from Nottingham Forest.
Everton scouts had monitored Mangala while on loan at Lyon in France at the back end of last season and were confident that a permanent transfer could be agreed, but Lyon exercised their option to sign the Belgian permanently and a deal completed on the 2nd of July. However, Sean Dyche thinks that Mangala is the perfect replacement for Andre Onana, who joined Aston Villa this summer, and wants his club to spend cash to complete a deal before the transfer window closes tomorrow evening.
It is understood that Mangala is ready for a return to the Premier League and has instructed his agent to open talks with Lyon to clear the way for a transfer exit. Mangala has three years remaining on his Lyon contract.
