Kirkland signs new Wigan deal
Kirkland signs new Wigan deal
Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland has signed a new contract with his club. The keeper has signed a deal until 2012, and should shun the interest of several Premiership sides who were keen on the England international.
"I knew Chris was a good keeper before I joined but until I had worked with him, I didn't realise just how good he actually is," said manager Steve Bruce.
"Him signing this new deal is a massive boost for the club."
Kirkland was reportedly a target for both Aston Villa and West Ham.
