Man Utd confirm fresh injury blow for Fenerbahce game

Jonny Evans out of Fenerbahce clash

Manchester United have confirmed a fresh injury blow ahead of the Europa League meeting against Fenerbahce on the road.

The Red Devils returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday. Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund were the goalscorers.

They will be aiming for another victory in the Europa League on Thursday. Ahead of the Fenerbahce game, United have confirmed that Jonny Evans has not travelled to Istanbul.

The 36-year-old picked up a knock during the closing stages of the Brentford win and he has been ruled out for tomorrow's game.

In his absence, Lisandro Martinez should come into central defence to partner Matthijs de Ligt. The Argentine played as a left-back last weekend.

Diogo Dalot could move to the left side of the backline to facilitate Noussair Mazraoui's return in the right-back role against Fenerbahce.

United have yet to register a win in the Europa League, having played out draws against FC Twente and Porto - home and away.
