18yo teenager set for Arsenal debut vs Preston North End
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is expected to hand a debut to 18-year-old Tommy Setford in goal against Preston North End tomorrow.
The Gunners face the Championship outfit in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and ahead of the game, Arteta has hinted at many changes.
One of those could happen between the sticks. David Raya is expected to be given a breather and he could be replaced by Setford as Neto is Cup-tied for the game.
Setford picked up an injury before the last round of the competition and it was 16-year-old Jack Porter, who made his first-team debut against Bolton Wanderers.
Setford is now expected to get his opportunity in goal. The youngster joined the Gunners from Ajax with a huge reputation and he could be a future number one.
Aside from Setford, Arteta is expected to start other teenagers such as Josh Nichols, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri in tomorrow's Cup tie.
