Mikel Arteta provides fresh update on Riccardo Calafiori
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh injury update on Riccardo Calafiori ahead of the Carabao Cup fourth round tie against Preston North End on the road.
The Gunners have had a forgettable return after the international break. Calafiori picked up a knee injury against Shakhtar while Gabriel Magalhaes suffered a similar issue versus Liverpool.
Both of them are sidelined for tomorrow's game and when pressed for an update, Arteta revealed that Calafiori could be out of action for a couple of weeks at least.
Sky Sport Italy claim that Calafiori has suffered a minor medial ligament injury and he could be fit following the next international break.
Meanwhile, there is some positive news with Arteta confirming that Jurrien Timber was only tired and did not suffer an injury on Sunday.
Martin Odegaard has also returned to the grass after his ankle issue and he is expected to make his return before the next international break.
