Chelsea defender suffers swollen knee after Arsenal draw
Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana won't be reporting for international duty with France after suffering a swollen knee against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
The west London giants have had a fine start to the campaign and Fofana has played a big role alongside Levi Colwill in the heart of the backline.
The centre-back has started to find his feet after long-term injuries and he is currently one of the first names on the team sheet under Enzo Maresca.
Fofana was selected by France for the upcoming Nations League games, but the Blues have decided against sending him after the minor blow yesterday.
The former Leicester City man has an inflammation on his knee and the Blues believe he can receive the best treatment by stating in Cobham.
Aside from Fofana, Colwill has also withdrawn from England duty with a knock. The same goes for Cole Palmer who is nursing a knee issue too.
Chelsea are currently third in the league table with 19 points.
