Arsenal to make fresh move for Martin Zubimendi?

Arsenal are prepared to make a fresh move for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi at the end of the campaign, according to The Independent.

The Spaniard has been a long-term target for the Gunners, but he has been reluctant to leave his boyhood club over the years due to personal preference.

Liverpool were prepared to trigger the £50m release clause in his contract last summer, but Zubimendi made it clear that he did not want to leave Sociedad.

His stance has not changed as things stand, but reports claim that he could contemplate a new challenge away from the Basque Country next summer.

Arsenal are closely monitoring his situation as manager Mikel Arteta is a huge fan. They could make a serious approach for his services in July next year.

The Gunners have already signed his former teammate Mikel Merino. Merino could have a big role to play in luring Zubimendi to the Emirates next summer.
