Phil Jones slams Man Utd star after blunder vs Forest
Former Manchester United star Phil Jones has slammed goalkeeper Andre Onana following his high-profile error against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
The Red Devils suffered a 3-2 defeat to Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday and Onana was at fault for two goals conceded. For the first of those, he was deceived by the flight of the ball.
Speaking after the disappointing loss, Jones said that Onana should have saved the effort from Morgan Gibbs-White, he told Sky Sports:
"I'd like to give him [Andre Onana] some credit and say the ball deviated a little bit but it's hardly a knuckle ball. He should be saving it."
Onana has been in sensational form for the Red Devils over the last 12 months, but his mistakes against Forest proved costly for the club.
He should have done better for the second and third goals conceded and needs to make amends for United in the forthcoming matches.
With the loss to Forest, United remain 13th in the league standings and they are now eight points behind the fourth Champions League place.
