Manchester United could make an approach to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Red Devils currently have Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund as their strikers and the duo have scored five goals under new manager Ruben Amorim.

Despite this, the manager is eyeing an upgrade next year and reports in Italy claim that United could swoop for Osimhen as early as next month.

The Nigerian star has 14 goal contributions for Galatasaray on loan this season, but he can cut short his contract in January with a break clause.

He has a release clause worth €75m in his deal with the Serie A giants and reports claim that United could pay the figure at the turn of the year.

It remains to be seen whether there is any truth to the speculation. The arrival of Osimhen could largely depend on Zirkzee heading out.

The Dutchman has been linked with a return to Serie A with Juventus, who are eyeing a short-term loan with an obligation to purchase.
