Arsenal and Manchester United are set to compete with Barcelona in the race to sign Lille striker Jonathan David next summer.

The Canadian star has been in superb form for Lille this campaign and he has already bagged 17 goals and three assists this term.

His progress has caught the eye of several elite European clubs, but Lille have made the decision to keep him until his contract expires next summer.

Hence, he will be available on a free transfer and interested European teams can open negotiations with him as early as January.

Barcelona see David as a potential back-up for Robert Lewandowski, but they are set to face the threat from Arsenal and United.
