Ruben Amorim confirms Man Utd star is back in training before derby

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed that defender Jonny Evans has returned to training ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The Red Devils recently returned to winning ways with a 2-1 comeback win over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League. Rasmus Hojlund scored a brace including a late winner prior to stoppage time.

United will be aiming for a second successive win on Sunday, but it won't be an easy challenge despite City's dreadful form over the past month. The Cityzens have won one of the last 10 games.

Ahead of the derby, Amorim said that almost everyone is fit in the squad and confirmed that Evans has already been training with his teammates.

United have had to cope with early season injuries, but Amorim has almost a fit squad to choose from. Luke Shaw is the only absentee with a muscle issue.

Shaw suffered another setback earlier this month. The England international may not return to first-team training until the turn of the year.
