Man Utd eyeing deal to sign Spanish left wing-back?

Manchester United are reportedly considering the prospect of re-signing Alvaro Fernandez from Benfica this winter.

Lecce's Patrick Dorgu is the priority target for United, but the Serie A outfit have rejected two offers for the Danish sensation.

United have been told to pay €40 million for the defender and it is unclear whether they will meet the demands of the Italian side.

Amidst this, Record claim that United had scouts in attendance to watch Fernandez in action for Benfica against Casa Pia today.

United have the option to re-sign him for around €20 million. They are considering the prospect with Dorgu proving expensive.

Fernandez did not make a competitive appearance for United in his career, but could get a second chance under Ruben Amorim.

He has already opened the door for a potential reunion with the club.
