Arsenal favourites to sign wonderkid before transfer deadline

Arsenal are favourites to sign Rosenborg wonderkid Sverre Nypan before the transfer deadline next week, according to VG in Norway.

The Gunners have already spoken with the player's representatives and they are now pushing to convince the teenager to choose them.

Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested, but Arsenal are reportedly 'ahead in the game', as per VG.

Martin Odegaard has previously spoken with the youngster and Nypan would be tempted to play under his national team captain.

Nypan has developed into one of the best emerging talents in Norway. He has been exceptional this term with eight goals and 10 assists.

The 18-year-old can play in a central or attacking midfield role. He also works hard for the team in the defensive scheme of things.

Nypan averages almost two tackles per appearance with more than five recoveries and duels won. He would be a fantastic long-term signing.

Rosenborg are prepared to sell him for an initial £10 million.
