'He's ready to play': Arteta confirms Arsenal star could return vs West Ham
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that defender Ben White is ready to play against West Ham United in the Premier League tomorrow.
The England international has not played a competitive game for the Gunners since November when he underwent knee surgery for a nagging issue.
He has been working on his fitness over the past few weeks and Arteta has acknowledged that he could make his comeback against the Hammers.
Speaking in his press conference today, the manager said: "He’s ready to play, whether it’s to start it’s a decision we will make tomorrow."
Arsenal registered a hard-fought 2-0 win over Leicester City on the road last weekend. Mikel Merino came off the bench to net a brace.
The Spaniard was brilliant as a makeshift striker for the Gunners and he could lead the attack at the Emirates versus the Hammers.
White could also get the nod in the starting line-up ahead of Jurrien Timber at right-back. The latter could be given a much-needed breather.
