Arsenal ready to pay clause to sign 22yo Spanish star
Arsenal are prepared to trigger the release clause in the contract of Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams this summer, as per Fichajes.
The Gunners are poised to bolster their attacking department and a new winger could be among the priorities for manager Mikel Arteta.
Williams has been on the club's radar for the last few years and Arsenal are prepared to step up their pursuit at the end of the campaign.
They are ready to trigger the €58m release clause in his contract and are growingly optimistic that Williams will pursue a new challenge.
The 22-year-old has been reluctant to leave his boyhood club for the last two years, but he could be tempted to move on in the next window.
Arsenal may have to make him their highest earner for a transfer to materialise. Williams is expected to demand around £300,000 per week.
Chelsea are also interested in the Spain international, but they are unlikely to meet the wage demands of the versatile attacker this summer.
