Manchester United are exploring the possibility of signing AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan as a replacement for Andre Onana this summer, according to Fichajes.

Onana has been inconsistent in goal for the Red Devils this campaign and he has been guilty of making several unforced errors leading to goals.

United could be prepared to offload him at the end of the season and reports claim that Maignan has been earmarked as his possible successor.

Maignan was a top target for the Red Devils in the summer of 2022, but they chose to sign Onana instead under Erik ten Hag's recommendation.

The Frenchman has remained on the club's radar and they could swoop for him when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign.

Maignan has a contract until June 2026, but he is apparently close to penning a new long-term deal to keep him for another three years.

Despite this, he could be available for a reasonable fee this summer if the Rossoneri fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
