Arsenal set to sign 26yo star from La Liga club - David Ornstein
Arsenal are poised to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi this summer, according to journalist David Ornstein.
The Gunners are expected to strengthen their midfield department in the summer with the likely departures of Thomas Partey and Jorginho.
The experienced duo are contracted until the summer of 2025 and the London giants have no plans of keeping them beyond that period.
Ornstein today reports that the Gunners are in very advanced talks to land Zubimendi and those at the club believe a deal is almost done.
The reputed journalist added that the club are unlikely to sign Bruno Guimaraes alongside the 26-year-old despite recent speculation.
Arsenal have other positions to bolster for next season and Ornstein insists that the club won't have the money to land the Newcastle ace.
A marquee centre-forward is the next priority for the Gunners after Zubimendi. A back-up goalkeeper and versatile winger could be signed too.
Arsenal take on London rivals Chelsea in the Premier League tomorrow.
