Arsenal get permission to speak with striker's agent
Arsenal have received permission from Sporting Lisbon to speak with the representative of striker Viktor Gyokeres.
The Gunners are keen on bolstering their strike force in the summer and Gyokeres has been identified as a top target.
The Swede has netted a staggering 42 goals this campaign and he is prepared to pursue a bigger challenge over the summer.
A move to the Premier League is a lucrative option for him and Arsenal have a head start over the chasing pack at the moment.
Gyokeres' agent is a very close friend of manager Mikel Arteta and discussions are ongoing over personal terms.
Newcastle United's Alexander Isak is also on the club's radar, but there is an acceptance that he won't be sold later this year.
Gyokeres has a £85 million release clause in his contract, but he can reportedly be signed for around £62m this summer.
Sporting CP have a gentleman's agreement with the former Coventry City striker and are unlikely to demand a higher figure.
