Chelsea still pushing to sign Spanish defender
Chelsea are among the contenders to sign Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen during the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are expected to spend big on a central defender, considering the injury woes of Wesley Fofana since his arrival from Leicester City.
Huijsen has been on their radar over the last few months and Romano claims that the Blues have not given up on landing the Spain international.
The 19-year-old has publicly revealed his dream of playing for Real Madrid and Los Blancos are reportedly weighing up a potential summer move.
Chelsea are still optimistic of securing an agreement for the centre-back, who has a release clause worth £50 million in his contract with the Cherries.
Huijsen has been a revelation since his move from Juventus last summer. The Cherries have no power to keep him if his buy-out clause is activated.
The Blues may look to pay a higher transfer fee to negotiate long-term payments. It remains to be seen whether they can win the transfer race.
