Arsenal want to replace Martinelli with Newcastle star
Arsenal are keen on replacing Gabriel Martinelli with Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon this summer, according to Football Insider.
The Gunners are expected to make several changes to the squad and a left winger could be one of the main priorities for the hierarchy.
Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have lacked consistency from the role and there is a possibility that one of them could head for the exit door.
Talks are underway with Trossard over a new contract until June 2029 and reports claim that Martinelli could be the player to leave the club.
The Gunners have their sights on landing Gordon from the Magpies and a deal could be possible for a huge outlay, considering the latter's financial issues.
Newcastle are poised to qualify for the Champions League but the failure to do so could force them to sanction a high-profile departure this summer.
Gordon, who has also been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea, could emerge as the candidate. He could be sold for around £70-80 million.
