Liverpool planning shock move for Viktor Gyokeres?
Liverpool could provide fierce competition to Arsenal in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer, according to Correio da Manha.
The Merseyside giants are poised to part ways with Darwin Nunez this summer. He has agreed personal terms with Napoli and negotiations are ongoing regarding the fee.
The Reds are expected to spend big on a marquee striker and Correio da Manha claim that they could make an approach of their own for Gyokeres in the near future.
The Swede has been angling for a move to Arsenal this summer with his ambition to play in the Champions League, but the Gunners are yet to agree on a suitable fee.
Sporting are ready to part ways with the 27-year-old for £68 million, but the Gunners have offered only £55.5m including add-ons for the former Coventry City man.
Amidst this, it is claimed that Liverpool could capitalise on the situation and lure Gyokeres to Anfield. They could be willing to meet the demands of the Portuguese champions.
