Man Utd close to signing Cameroonian star, add-ons discussed
Manchester United are close to completing the purchase of Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils have already bolstered their attack with the acquisition of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £62.5 million.
They are now keen to finalise the purchase of Mbeumo. Talks are ongoing with the Bees and a package worth £65m is expected to be agreed.
Discussions are ongoing to reduce the fixed fee. United hope to pay at least £5m of the reported figure in the form of performance add-ons.
Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed an interest in the 25-year-old, but the Cameroonian has made up his mind to join the Red Devils instead.
The arrivals of Cunha and Mbeumo will undoubtedly increase the creativity within the United ranks. A new striker could be signed as well.
United missed out on Liam Delap to Chelsea earlier this summer, and they are now exploring alternative options for the number nine role.
