Arsenal confirm Spanish star as their fifth summer signing

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera on a long-term contract.

The Gunners have had a successful transfer window and have signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Noni Madueke.

The north London giants have now added Mosquera to their ranks. The Spaniard has joined the club after turning down a contract extension with Los Che.

He is expected to provide backup to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes in central defence, but can also comfortably operate from the right and left-back roles too.

Hence, he should get valuable minutes in a rotational role for the Gunners. Mosquera is already a strong ball-playing defender and should only develop further.

His arrival is likely to spread speculation over the future of Jakub Kiwior, who has been linked with a possible return to the Italian top flight.

Napoli are among his admirers, but the Gunners are unlikely to sell him on the cheap after his superb progress during the second half of last season.
