Morgan Rogers top target for Chelsea next month
Aston Villa's stand out performer last year, Morgan Rogers, has emerged as a transfer priority for Chelsea next month as the Blues are weighing up a transfer bid of close to £70 million to secure one of England's brightest young midfield talents. With six international appearances to his name, Rogers has already firmly established himself as one of his country's best players and a move to Chelsea could mean a new contract that would triple his current deal at Villa Park.
Rogers was outstanding last season and returned 11 Premier League goals in 48 games overall since arriving from Middlesbrough in 2024. The 6 foot 2 attacking midfielder caught the eye in games against top opposition, such as Arsenal, and that is believed to be one of the reasons why Chelsea would like to buy the Halesowen-born youngster.
At 23-years-old, Rogers still has room to grow and develop, and Enzo Maresca is keen to add more attacking depth to his squad before the transfer window slams shut.
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is keen to keep hold of Rogers, but understands the lure of Stamford Bridge could be hard to turn down for the player.
