Man Utd identify two names for the striker's role
Manchester United have identified their top two targets to bolster the centre-forward department ahead of next season, according to The Athletic.
The Red Devils are determined to land a new marksman this summer after the shortcomings of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee last season.
Hojlund and Zirkzee netted only seven Premier League goals last term, and United need an upgrade on the duo to push for European football.
It is now revealed that United are focused on signing either Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins or RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko in the coming weeks.
Sesko's future could be attached to Xavi Simons'. If Simons were to be sold, there is a good chance that Leipzig may keep Sesko next season.
Hence, Watkins seems the frontline candidate for the Red Devils, but he won't come on the cheap with Villa set to demand around £60 million.
The Midlands outfit may also want a quality replacement in the squad. Until then, the Englishman may not be allowed to head for the exit door.
