West Ham make approach for Chelsea attacker
West Ham have been in contact with Chelsea with regard to a potential loan transfer for wantaway winger Raheem Sterling. The England international spent last season on loan at Arsenal, but failed to impress the Gunners' fans and management team and subsequently returned to Stamford Bridge.
One potential stumbling block for any transfer is Raheem's reported £275,000 per week salary, of which Arsenal paid around half last season. West Ham are unwilling to even match Arsenal's contribution, instead seeking to pay around £75,000 per week for Sterling.
However, Graham Potter would love to add experience to his squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League season and in Sterling, he will get a proven winner who has won everything during his spell at Manchester City. Potter also is understood to have an excellent relationship with Sterling. According to TalkSPORT, Potter enjoyed working with Sterling whilst he was the Chelsea manager.
Juventus and Crystal Palace are also monitoring Sterling's transfer situation, and could make an offer to Chelsea should West Ham decide against a move.
