Everton closing in on Grealish signing
Everton are closing in on the loan signing of out of favour Manchester City winger Jack Grealish, according to Fabrizio Romano. The player is reportedly interested in the move, with a deal being a straight loan without an option to buy.
Discussions are ongoing as to what percentage of Grealish's wage will be paid by the Toffees, with the Merseyside outfit unlikely to be willing to pay the entirety of the winger's reported £300,000 a week wage.
Manchester City are reportedly keen to offload the Englishman this summer, as City boss Pep Guardiola has already informed Grealish that he is no longer part of his plans and stated that he must move in order to get regular game time under his belt.
Grealish is no longer a regular starter for the Citizens and saw a dramatic reduction in his playing time last season, mainly due to the arrivals of forwards Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt and Savinho from fellow City Group owned Spanish side Girona and would be likely to see even less game time with the signing of France international Rayan Cherki.
The 29-year-old has failed to live up to expectations after his £100 million transfer from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021, netting just 12 times since his arrival, with only one of those being scored last season.
