Yoane Wissa completes Newcastle move

Yoane Wissa has finally joined Newcastle United on a busy transfer deadline day that ensures the forward leaves Brentford for a move that he has been seeking for several months. The Toon Army have reportedly paid around £65 million for the striker, and he has signed a four-year contract at St James' Park.
Newcastle needed a ready-made Premier League goalscorer after progressing a record sale of Alexander Isak to Liverpool, and Wissa, entering the final year of his Brentford contract, was both obtainable and in red-hot form after 19 Premier League goals last season (49 in 149 for Brentford overall). Brentford ultimately accepted once Newcastle met their price; reports also note a sell-on clause, softening the blow as the Bees reshape their attack following other high-profile departures.
It is understood that Brentford have been sufficiently impressed with the form of Brazilian striker Igor Thiago that they could not stop Wissa from leaving the club for a new challenge at Newcastle.
Eddie Howe's business is now complete, and Alexander Isak's transfer to Anfield will be announced later on this evening.
