Arsenal winger joins Brentford on loan

Arsenal have allowed Reiss Nelson to move to Premier League rivals Brentford on loan for the 2025-26 season, with a view to a permanent transfer. Nelson has been looking for a new team for most of the summer, and a deal had been expected to either Fulham or Crystal Palace, however Brentford have secured a deal and will pay around £15 million next summer should Nelson impress.
The Gunners are expected to be very busy on transfer deadline day, especially in terms of exits out of the Emirates Stadium, and Nelson will be the first to find a new club. Jakub Kiwior and Fabio Vieira are amongst the other players likely to leave.
Nelson had famously scored the winning goal at the Emirates against Bournemouth and became somewhat of a cult hero to the Arsenal supporters.
However, loan spells at Fulham did not provide the player with a regular opportunity in the first-team, and injuries blighted his spell at Craven Cottage. The winger will be hoping to have more luck at Brentford, and secure a transfer on a permanent basis next summer.
