Man Utd decision on new midfielder revealed
Manchester United decided against pursuing a midfielder on transfer deadline day, according to the Daily Mail.
The Red Devils primarily focused on bolstering the attack during the summer transfer window, having signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
They also added defender Diego Leon and goalkeeper Senne Lammens to the squad, but the fans were left disappointed with the lack of a quality midfield signing this summer.
United explored a deal for Brighton star Carlos Baleba earlier this month, but the Seagulls made it clear that he won't be sold for another year at least.
They looked into a move for Stuttgart's Angelo Stiller yesterday, but the Bundesliga giants met the Red Devils with a similar kind of response.
As a result, United did not proceed to purchase a midfielder and will seek a solution in either January or during next summer's transfer window.
The United hierarchy are happy with the current central midfield options in Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes.
