Arsenal suffer fresh injury blow for Athletic clash
Arsenal have suffered a big injury blow ahead of the Champions League opener against Athletic Bilbao on the road.
The Gunners returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
In the same game, Martin Odegaard suffered a shoulder injury similar to the one against Leeds United earlier last month.
Odegaard could not carry on and was substituted early in the first half.
The Norwegian has now not travelled with the team to the Basque Country and won't be involved in the Champions League curtain-raiser.
In his absence, Ethan Nwaneri has been playing in the number 10 role, but we won't be surprised if Eberechi Eze gets the nod there.
Gabriel Martinelli could return on the left wing for the Gunners and Eze could be asked to play from his prefered attacking role.
Arsenal are huge favourites to reach the last 16 of the competition. They should pick up a comfortable win over Athletic tomorrow.
