Real eye 'one quality player'
Real Madrid's director of sport Predrag Mijatovic has revealed that he believes the Spanish club should move for 'one great player' as opposed to 'three or four good ones'. These are brave comments from Mijatovic, in light of Real's believed interest in Man Utd midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo.
"We don't need so many players - it's just as good to get one very good one. That would give us a leap in quality," he said.
"I say this one thing, and it's not just to earn my salary: this current Real Madrid squad has what it takes to win the Champions League. For sure. If I have to say why, it's because the team, the environment, the values, have all been recovered in the past two years.
"The squad are now with the club. They accept the approaches being made. There's great communication and discussion over performances. Therefore it is best to keep this group without changing it too much, so one is almost better than three."
