Man Utd want to agree deal for €60m midfielder
Manchester United are keen on landing the signature of Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand when the transfer window reopens in January, according to Fichajes.
The Red Devils were eager to sign a new defensive midfielder during the recent transfer window, but they could not find a suitable target before the deadline.
Brighton's Carlos Baleba was the initial target for the Mancunian giants, but the reported €120m price tag put the club off from making any kind of approach.
The club tried to land Conor Gallagher on loan from Atletico Madrid before the deadline, but the La Liga giants did not want to sanction his temporary departure.
It is now reported that Hjulmand is the priority target for the Red Devils in January, and they are prepared to pay €60m to prise him away from Sporting CP.
Sporting turned down an offer worth €45m from Juventus last summer, but they are unlikely to block his exit if they receive close to €60m for his services.
