Man Utd handed boost with key Liverpool star injured

Manchester United have been handed a boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Liverpool on the road after the international break.
The Red Devils returned to winning ways last weekend with a 2-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford. They face a daunting challenge against the Reds on the road later this month.
Ahead of the derby, they have been handed an early boost due to Ibrahima Konate's injury. The Frenchman was substituted in the second half against Chelsea with a quad muscle issue.
Konate was named in the bench for France's 3-0 win over Azerbaijan yesterday, but the centre-back has now returned early to the club.
The Frenchman will be assessed by the Reds medical staff in the coming days. He is reportedly facing a race against time to take on United.
If Konate is ruled out for the derby, Joe Gomez could be asked to partner Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the defence for next weekend's clash.
