Arsenal star ruled out for few weeks with MCL injury
Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard has been ruled out for the next few weeks with a medial cruciate ligament injury, according to manager Mikel Arteta.
The Norway international has had an injury-plagued campaign with the north London giants. He picked up a couple of freak shoulder injuries before sustaining knee damage against West Ham United.
It initially looked like a minor knock, but reports have confirmed that he suffered some damage to his knee. Speaking in today's press conference, Arteta confirmed that Odegaard could be out for a few weeks.
He said: "It's very unlucky what’s happened to him and his injuries this season, but I think he will be back in a few weeks.
"We’ll have to see how he progresses, how the knee’s healing, and how he manages after the next steps in his rehab."
Despite Odegaard's absence, Arsenal are well covered in the number 10 department after the purchase of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
Alongside him, Ethan Nwaneri is another solution for the manager. Hence, Arsenal have sufficient depth and quality for the fixtures ahead.
