Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided an update on Enzo Fernandez following the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
The Blues secured a second consecutive league win against Forest on the road. Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto and Reece James were the goalscorers.
After the victory, Maresca was posed with plenty of questions and one of those was focused on the absence of Fernandez due to a knee problem.
In response, the Blues boss said: "Enzo had small problem. A small problem that at the moment we are not able to say if he can be available for Ajax or not."
The Italian added that Wesley Fofana was also left out of the matchday squad as a precaution. It remains to be seen whether either of them return against Ajax.
The Blues host Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday night and they should fancy their chances of picking up a fourth straight win in all competitions.
After Ajax, Chelsea host Sunderland in next league game.
