Chelsea ready to make one signing for Liam Rosenior

Chelsea are ready to make a solitary signing for new manager Liam Rosenior this winter.

The Blues are currently languishing eighth in the table with 31 points, four adrift of the final Champions League spot.

They need a big turnaround to stay in the top-four race and the hierarchy are prepared to back the manager with funds.

A new centre-back is the prime target for the Blues, and there is no standout target for the west London giants as of now.

The Blues have the first refusal on Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi, but they are unlikely to pursue that option as things stand.

Guehi has agreed personal terms with Manchester City and looks set to join them in a deal worth £20 million in the summer.

Meanwhile, there could be a couple of exits in the near future.

Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi have been on the sidelines since the start of the season and are widely expected to be offloaded.
