Arsenal & Man Utd handed massive Ederson transfer boost

Arsenal and Manchester United have been handed a massive boost in signing Atalanta midfielder Ederson during the upcoming transfer window after an update from Manchester Evening News.

The Brazilian is expected to leave Atalanta this summer after declining to extend his contract beyond June next year. Atletico Madrid were hot on the trail of the midfielder earlier this year, but have pulled out of negotiations.

The La Liga outfit agreed personal terms with Atalanta for the 26-year-old, but refused to meet the £39 million valuation to purchase him. Diego Simeone's side have decided to sign Joao Gomes from Wolverhampton Wanderers instead.

Hence, Arsenal and United have been handed a massive transfer boost. They have been closely monitoring the developments of the versatile midfielder and could go head-to-head to land Ederson at the end of the campaign.

Ederson has been a guaranteed starter in the centre of the park for Atalanta over the years, but may have to accept a limited starting role if he decides to join either club.
