Arsenal close to signing Bruno Guimaraes

Arsenal are close to securing an agreement to land Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes this summer, according to The Times.

The Gunners are determined to land a marquee midfielder this summer and they have earmarked Guimaraes as their priority target for a while.

Discussions have been ongoing behind the scenes for the Brazilian and it is now claimed that an agreement is close to completion between the sides.

A package of around 80 million pounds, including add-ons, will be agreed by the Magpies for the 28-year-old, who wishes to join the Gunners.

Guimaraes has kept quiet regarding his future throughout but he is now expected to be granted a move away from the Magpies finally.

Eddie Howe recently parted left the managerial role at Newcastle and it is claimed that Guimaraes' likely transfer was a possible reason.

Howe has decided to take a break from management, having seen Newcastle sell several of their key players in the last few months.
