Man Utd eyeing striker on loan in January

Manchester United are prepared to enter the transfer market for a new striker on loan this winter, according to National.

The Red Devils have been without Benjamin Sesko upfront for several weeks due to a shin injury and he may not return until January.

The Slovenian may also require several weeks to build his fitness, meaning that Sesko may not play regularly until February or March.

Joshua Zirkzee is the back-up striker in the squad at the moment, but he has hardly played with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo operating as makeshifts.

It is now claimed that United are keen on adding a new marksman on loan in January and are already weighing up options for the position.

Fulham's Rodrigo Munoz and Al-Ahly's Ivan Toney are among strikers under consideration to bolster the frontline in the New Year.

Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta could be available for a cut-price fee too with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign.
