Fenerbahce stun Inter

Fenerbahce stunned Inter Milan as they defeated the Italian champions 1-0 at home in a game they would have been delighted to win. The Turkish side dominated most of the first-half, however an improved Inter side could not make the most of their possession and Fener hung on their lead.

A shot from playmaker Alex de Souza sailed over the bar in the 27th minute and Julio Cesar saved a Deivid header in the 32nd.

Key to the game were the performances of Alex and Deivid, the pair combining for the decisive goal before the break with Deivid firing in an acrobatic shot. The 42nd minute goal came from an Alex cross from the right and was smacked home on the volley by Deivid.
