West Ham after Pennant?
West Ham boss Alan Curbishley is preparing a swoop for Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant this summer. It is understood that the former Arsenal and Grimsby player is ready to leave Anfield in pursuit of more regular first team football.
West Ham's summer plans in the transfer market are believed to be ambitious, and the acquisition of Pennant would prove that the Hammers have the intent of becoming a top 5 side.
Pennant has found himself on the fringes of a heavily rotated Liverpool side, and has shown spells of his brilliance that was expected of him when he was 16 and signed by Arsenal.
The Hammers may find the transfer fee a stumbling block, however, as Liverpool are looking for in excess of £6.5 million for the player.
