Grant lacks coaching licence
Avram Grant's future in his new role could be in question because he does not yet have the necessary coaching licence. It is reported that Grant does not have the UEFA coaching badges deemed necessary to coach a Premiership side.
Grant does not have this licence and would need special dispensation from the League to manage Chelsea for more than 12 weeks.
The pro licence requires 240 hours of study and usually takes a year to obtain.
There are precedents for this situation though. In the past the Premier League has granted extensions beyond the 12-week period of grace in two 'exceptional' cases; such as the cases of Glenn Roeder and Gareth Southgate.
